Discovering a very luxury hotel in the heart of London
Last month, during an event in London I’ve had the fantastic opportunity to visit the St. James’ Court, A Taj Hotel and Taj 51 Buckingham Gate
This is not so much a hotel but rather an experience. Part of the Tata Group, the hotel has built a reputation for excellence over the years, not to mention the Michelin starred restaurant Quilon, the premier Golden Keys Concierge service and the functional and equipped Wellness Centre.
The origins of St. James’ Court can be traced to Elizabethan aristocracy and another period of hospitality. Once home to the Lords, Ladies and Gentlemen of the Royal Court, this exclusive hotel still resonates with echoes of history reaching back four centuries to the time of Shakespeare.
In a country that values understatement, St. James’ Court is an English classic typifying the concealed charm of one of Britain’s finest hotels. The custom of St. James’ Court is the distinctive choice for more than service with a smile. With a distinguished pedigree shaped over more than a century, this discreet Victorian masterpiece with its award-winning Shakespearean Courtyard is perfectly placed between Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament in a historic enclave marking the centre of power.
St. Jame’s Court reflects the universally acclaimed warmth and personalized service that the Taj is recognized for as one of the finest in the world. Treading the path from tradition to tomorrow,Taj 51 Buckingham Gate Suites and Residences redefines the meaning of luxury, creating a distinctive, customized and exclusive Taj experience.
The original eight townhouses that comprise St. James’ Court and Taj 51 Buckingham Gate stand tall today, overlooking the secluded courtyard with its delightful cherub-adorned Victorian fountain, restored to its original glory, as the centre piece.
With its beautifully understated interior and peaceful ambience, the restaurant Quilon is an oasis of calm and tranquillity. Chef Sriram Aylur is passionate about the philosophy behind Quilon -a passion for modern Indian South West coastal cuisine, a dedication to the freshest ingredients and a playful desire to blend traditional home-cooking with modern dishes for a thrilling and unique dining experience.I suggest you a Coconut cream chicken…. really delicious!
Bistro 51 impresses with its unique presentations and flavours created through local sourcing of fresh produce and Chefs careful selection of meats, seafood, poultry and vegetables. Sophisticated and light décor ensures a timeless elegance.
All about classic and inspired infusion cooking, and amazing steaks, naturally reared on farms, Bank prides itself on a philosophy of provenance and is dedicated to delivering fantastic food and service.
Hamptons is my favorite bar. It’s a pleasure to relax in the magical garden and enjoy the delicious cocktail at the bar with friends or even for a business meeting. With a sophisticated colour scheme, large elegant gilt mirrors and high-backed chairs the décor creates a sense of intimacy for drinkers.
This chic ‘Bar of the Year’ boasts the longest cocktail bar in Europe. Zander’s team is highly trained.
Finally, if you’re stressed out, you can always take a break relax at the 51 Fitness Centre. You can use the Gym and saunas. Also you can try the luxurious products which refresh and revitalize with vitamin and mineral-rich treatments.
This Taj hotel offers an unrivalled fusion of warm Indian hospitality, world-class service and modern luxury:unforgettable experience to try!
